How to Prep Your Home for Interior Painting: A Room-by-Room Checklist
A little prep before your painting crew arrives makes the whole project faster, smoother, and safer for your belongings. Here’s the simple checklist we share with our customers before an interior job.
A Few Days Before
- Decide on your colors and finishes (we’re happy to help)
- Remove wall art, photos, mirrors, and curtains
- Take down items from shelves and mantels
- Let us know about any pets so we can plan around them
The Day Before or Morning Of
- Clear nightstands, dressers, and countertops
- Move small furniture and breakables to the center of the room or another space
- Unplug and move electronics away from the walls
- Make sure we’ll have clear access to the rooms being painted
What We Handle for You
You don’t have to do the heavy lifting. Our crew takes care of the professional prep that protects your home and delivers a flawless finish:
- Moving and covering large furniture
- Protecting floors, fixtures, and trim
- Filling nail holes, cracks, and dents
- Sanding, caulking, and priming as needed
- A full clean-up before we leave
The result? A stress-free experience and a finish you’ll love — with your home left cleaner than we found it.
